Come join us for an incredibly moving adaptation of Julius Lester’s novel, Day of Tears.
On Sunday, April 12th, we have the opportunity to witness and reflect on a tragic day in American history — the day when more than 400 men, women and children were sold at the largest auction of enslaved people in the United States. We’ll gather at St. Peter’s Church in Hebron to hear powerful staged readings of the voices of those men, women and children.
We encourage you to read the book prior to the event, but if you don’t the program will stand on its own.
Registration is strongly recommended; scan the QR code on the flyer below or click here.
If you registered for the event we had planned to have in January (but weather forced us to cancel) your ticket will be honored on April 12. If you can’t attend on this date and would like a refund, we’ll gladly do so. You’ll receive an email from us – just respond and let us know.
