Multicultural Book Drive

Thank you to everyone who donated to our second annual Multicultural Book Drive! We collected 50 books, which were donated to libraries, child care centers, and other places where children are likely to read in the five communities CoDE serves.

This exceeded our goal by 15 books, and doubled the number we collected our first year!

Many thanks to our partner Riverbend Book Shop in Glastonbury. The ability to order books online no doubt contributed to the increase in the number of books ordered. And we owe a huge debt of gratitude to Christi Moraga, chair of CoDE’s education workgroup and leader of our Marlborough team, for organizing and implementing this book drive.

We are grateful to everyone for supporting this effort and excited to help grow the number of diverse, multicultural books in the five communities we serve.

CT Public reported on the refusal of Hebron Superintendent to accept donations from our Book Drive.
