Supporting Neighbors in Need

As you know, the needs of some of our neighbors and residents across the state are rising due to the government shutdown – including those who depend on SNAP benefits to feed themselves and their families. Approximately 360,000 people in Connecticut will lose their SNAP benefits on November 1st, affecting many veterans, seniors, and children.

In response to this, CoDE is donating  $100 to each food bank in the five towns that CoDE serves. We’ve also set up a Virtual Food Drive to raise funds to benefit Connecticut Foodshare. This will allow us to broaden our reach by helping neighboring cities & towns and beyond, where the needs are much higher in other areas (ex. Windham, Manchester, Norwich, East Hartford, etc.). Our goal is to raise $1,000, which will provide 2000 meals. Working with Connecticut Foodshare allows our dollars to go further, source the most needed items, and reach more people as they work with over 500 organizations across the state.

We invite you to make a monetary donation to the CoDE Virtual Food Drive, which will run through Nov 30, here: https://donate.ctfoodshare.org/team/782557

We appreciate your time and consideration in helping CoDE make a positive impact during these troubling times for people in CT.
