CoDE’s third annual Juneteenth Celebration was a joyful day filled with music, dancing, drumming, learning, and meeting new people!
We are grateful to all of the performers and vendors who participated and to everyone who joined us on an absolutely gorgeous Saturday in June in Hebron. And to all of our funders, partners, and volunteers – we couldn’t have done this without you. You made it truly a community event!
And to our special guests – more like family now – members of the Peters family who joined us on this Juneteenth Recognition Day – we are honored that you come back each year to be with us. To Zakiyyah Peters Hasan, who was an integral part of the planning committee and organized a special performance involving the Peters family to depict the history of their ancestors (Cesar and Lois Peters) – we are deeply grateful.
