Raising Empathetic and Inclusive Children

Our world is full of diversity and human difference. Although such traits enhance our experiences and enrich our lives, they are not always straightforward or easy to navigate. In fact, they are complex, dynamic, and nuanced.

This workshop is geared towards parents and caregivers who are eager and ready to learn how to support the children and young people in their lives through an empathetic and inclusive lens. Parents and caregivers will leave this workshop feeling affirmed, better informed, and with strategies to guide children of all ages.

Rebecca Flores Harper identifies as a bicultural multilingual Mexican-American adoptee. With over a decade of experience in education, Rebecca has worked with students ages 3-18, families, educators, alums, and community members always with the goal of uplifting children. In 2021, she founded AuthenTEACHCity in order to better support educators, organizations, and community members with their equity and inclusion efforts. Rebecca is currently the Director of Equity and Community at Hopkins School in New Haven.

CoDE is excited to host this special event for parents, caregivers and educators in the towns we serve and beyond. Please save the date on your calendar. Details about registering will be available soon. If you have questions, email us at code.diversity1@gmail.com.
